This kind of predation harms not just the individual mentee, but also the university and the field of study.

His statements don’t acknowledge those harms.

Lawrence Summers:
an intellectual giant,
but lacking moral clarity.

No wonder that Summers, like Epstein, is a sexual predator.

Even after he was caught, Summers can’t recognize what he did wrong:
Former Harvard president Lawrence Summers apparently needs remedial moral education.

Based on his statements today, he doesn’t understand the nature of his wrong.

He invokes the language of emotion—causing pain, repairing relationships—as if marital infidelity were …

… the issue.

Did he just borrow the language of politicians caught having affairs — as if signaling a commitment to work on his marriage will address the problem?

It sure sounds like Summers caused harm to this mentee, exploiting his position of power and prestige to pressure her for sex.

I just watched the whole video, and not a single reporter stood up for her. Everyone just pivoted to asking questions on other topics.

This is shameful.
When asked if there was anything "incriminating" in Epstein's emails, Trump pointed a finger in a female reporter's face and snapped. 'Quiet. Quiet, Piggy.'

Important reporting by @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social,
but its subheadline and this post mischaracterize what Lawrence Summers was seeking from his mentee.
It wasn’t a “romantic” relationship.
It was a sexual one.

In a lawsuit filed by 8 IG fired by Trump, a federal court ruled in September that although the firings likely violated federal law, they "didn’t cause enough irreparable harm to justify reinstating the watchdogs before the lawsuit is resolved."
