To be clear: Labour are not protecting Britain from our future posh fash rulers. They are actively rehabilitating the politics that will bring them to power and they’re creating the tools that the fancy National Front will sharpen and use, and Reform and other fascists cannot believe their luck.

The cynicism is vile. The govt knows austerity is unpopular, but hope we won't care if they make asylum seekers homeless to save money.

They are also distorting Article 8 of the HRA (right to family life) to make it harder to remain or to bring family members to live here. And if you think that's about other people's families but won't affect yours, you are both naïve and selfish.

I was given this as a young adult and never read the series because at the time I didn't read fantasy (more fool me). I should dig them out and give them a go

It's because of Big Glitter corrupting the true menace of the noble unicorn and making it seem whimsical rather than a beautiful potential death machine. When you remember that, the association with Scotland makes sense.

Angry White Pyjamas is a pretty good book, though!

- The head is a memoir, a pun based on what she is doing
- The colour of pyjamas and gender of the wearer is what matters
- The season books add up to a whole period of time doing nothing
- The mug is a musical term for a rest or in-between time
