This is a v short service road + parking for a row of shops, joining the main road just beyond the white van.
I’m appalled that a speed hump has had to be installed to slow down rat-runners, who just can’t wait to join the main road, just to the right of where I’m standing.

Supermarket shop by bike. Panniers are easy to remove, I put them in the trolley and use Scan-as-you-shop as I fill them; I never end up with more than I can carry home!

I’m not reluctant - I use panniers all the time, a backpack makes me feel like I’m going to topple over. And sweaty-back too 🤢
