All, er, four ears from our 3 Three Sisters hills. The varieties crossbred a few years ago when I was first trying to learn to hand pollinate, so I save seed for our garden but don’t share without full disclosure. I’m surprised we had a harvest at all: The neighborhood hunting cat retired years ago.

All, er, four ears from our 3 Three Sisters hills. My entire hindbrain just relaxed. We grew at least one ear of corn (haven’t opened the other 3 yet). Will dry for seed & hope for continued collaboration with this cousin, & few squirrels

Cool elderberry moment this morning: While listening to them fall into the bowl (plip! Plip!) & moving from one cluster to another, I felt my mind go quiet. It’s a damn noisy time in the country. Maybe falling still so we can begin to hear the real solutions is a necessary & revolutionary act
