An ICE employee was among 16 men arrested after trying to solicit a minor for sex in Bloomington, Minnesota, police say

"When he was arrested, he said, 'I'm ICE, boys,'" Bloomington Police Chief Booker Hodges said during a press conference. "Well, unfortunately for him, we locked him up."

If any other president in all of history said the military should use American cities as a training ground he would be removed from office that same day. The hardest thing to tolerate in all this is how relatively silent elected democrats are. It’s ridiculous.

This is the world’s problem, actually. And there is nothing absent minded about what I said. Which wasn’t an argument. It was a statement. This staggering failure of imagination, this idea that Democrats in power are powerless…. is absurd. If they have no power, why don’t they resign?
You're an incredibly smart person to be peddling an incredibly absent minded argument. Even if every Democratic official held a Pritzker-like conference every minute of every day, it still wouldn't give them the Constitutional power to do anything about it. This is a GOP problem.

"Violence has no place in politics" You think cutting off funding for food, education, housing and medical care isn't violent? You think arresting, jailing, deporting and killing people for the color of their skin isn't violent? Worms are in a lot of brains if you think violence isn't already here.

Gun violence is not an inevitability in the US. Data-driven regulation can save lives. Will people see the benefit?

So much political discourse right now in the US is boiling down to "I didn't believe the bleeding person who told me the wolf at the door was dangerous to me. Because I thought the wolves only hunted them." And I don't know what people think can happen as long as that is still the conversation.

if you buy used books and want to avoid amazon where possible, check out bookfinder.com

you can search essentially every marketplace in one go

so you can, e.g., find the same used copy for sale, from the same seller, on biblio.com or ebay instead of amazon or abe (owned by amazon)

For me, fighting fascism has nothing to do with thinking I’ll win. I don’t fight because there’s an inevitable outcome, I fight because I couldn’t live with myself if I didn’t do something.

The problem with white liberals is they are cool with oppression like Carnegie did as long as it's gilded and implemented behind closed doors while smoking cigars, not vulgar and out in the open while high on ketamine and amphetamines like Musk is doing.

Anyway, don't obey in advance, and don't obey later.

Pretending stopping a coup is about following the rules is the height of idiocy. Slavery was legal. The Holocaust was legal. Jim Crow was legal. Fighting back is often illegal. It is also necessary.
Elon Musk can fuck up the government because the president says he can and Congress is controlled by Republicans who aren’t going to stop him. This is very different from a random congressperson arresting Elon Musk and pretending they’re the same thing is extremely silly
