Utopia may be impossible but it doesn't mean we shouldn't try. Pfp of my cat Sage.
I hate this Labour government under Starmer. But dear God do I hate how the media reports on it 1000 times more. Every mainstream news org has relentless outed themselves as Tory propaganda. There was none of this during the worst years of the Tories. Just infuriating.

Okay, here we go.

Health & care staff are no longer allowed a Covid booster, but they're still expected to look after COVID+ patients.

NHS/govt is reneging on its duty of care. Staff will become unwell, and patients too will suffer.

You know what to do

I have the privilege to epend time thinking about ideology but in the end it just breaks down to "There shouldn't be empty homes while there are homeless" and "There shouldn't be billionaires while people live in poverty" yet that is considered a level of radicalism far beyond murder for more money.

Reading the budget and it's exactly what you'd expect from a neo-liberal policy. We live in a time where what is moral for people would also be good economically.
It's good the 2 child cap is gone, removing it will save lives but I just have a bad taste in my mouth over motivation.

This is open fascism. Combine this decision with clampdowns on the right of protest though 'cumulative impact' and expansion on proscription.

I don't even know what to say to express the rage I feel. Starmer, Labour, the whole damn system is rocketing toward the end of democracy in this country.

"Polanski was joined by many Labour MPs in opposing the government’s plans, although most of them are thought to be prepared to reluctantly support the measures."

What's the point of being in Labour?

The old, disabled, refugees, doctors all these were valid target for attack for "raising money" before the Starmer government utters the words Capital gains. Dividends and stocks are taxed less than your income. You have a right to be mad!
November 18, 2025 at 7:16 AM
If Starmer wants to legitimise expropriation then I recommend seizing all assets of politicians who have taken payments or benefits from private individuals while in office. It'll do more to fix this country than robbing the destitute and desperate!

Is the UK being ruled by Von Papen? All this government does is enact authoritarian powers for the next government to use to their full power to kill civil liberties. This is a level of self destructive incompetence unimaginable. Starmer is profoundly stupid or actually supports Reform.

Maybe the change to Clause IV of the Labour party should have been viewed with more worry. It may have just ended the support for common ownership but in practice it broke the foundations. Maybe I'm just seeking a singular event but the Labour party as it is now is unrecognisable to its founders.

The BBC is ours. It's ours to love. Ours to criticise. Ours to shout at when we feel in the mood.

And if Farage thinks that the way to win favour with voters is to stand around cheering as Trump takes down the BBC for $1 billion of personal enrichment then he's a bigger fool than anyone thought.

It is hard to defend the BBC as an institution. It has spent decade spitting on those who actually believe in public broadcasting. From protecting pedophiles to genocidal states all the while it tries to court people who hate its existence. It will find itslef with no friends at the end.

The OBR shows social security spending decrease against GDP yet the media never challenge the constant lying spewed out by Labour the Tories and Reform. It's hard to not go mad about this.

In the midst of horrific mass killings and violence, British-made military equipment has been found in Sudan.

It's clear our arms export licensing system is not fit for purpose; we need a full review, alongside an embargo on all arms exports to the UAE now.

I keep seeing people say that Polanski and the Greens are promoting populist economics which really shows how economics has moved. They're policies are basic proven Keynesian Social Democracy. Labour traped itself to Neo-Liberal fiscal rules while the bonds market support a larger deficit.

The situation in Sudan is horrific; war monitors have compared the level of violence in El Fasher to that of the start of the Rwandan genocide.

The international community cannot abide this.

To the people going on about how Labour are sensible politics. What's sensible for continuing a fiscal policy that even by its own metrics has failed this country. That contiunues to advocate for taxes that will reduce consumer spending while stripping the vulnerable of what they need to live.

Almost 100% of children in 73 neighbourhoods in England are living in income-deprived families.

Labour could choose to lift hundreds of thousands of children out of poverty immediately by scrapping the two-child benefit cap.

Child poverty is a political choice.

When we talk about wealth inequality in the UK we say how the top 10% owns 50% of the wealth. What about the bottom 10%? They have 0% of the wealth. For millions of people the total value of their possessions does not meet the debts they owe. That is the scale of the rot at the heart of the UK.

The RSF’s capture of Darfur is a tragedy unfolding in silence.

Thousands have been killed, millions displaced, a man-made famine, driven by foreign interference — and the world looks away.

We must demand accountability, humanitarian aid, and an end to the violence in Sudan.

2 Genocides! Not content with only arming one the UK decided it needed to get more under its belt. Signing an open licence with the UAE after PROOF that they were giving British guns to the RSF in Sudan who are committing genocide. Words cannot express how vile this is.

Wealth taxes aren't just about raising money. It's about encouraging the rich to spend. Unlike us plebs they can avoid inflation, so an alternative is needed. Why would they risk investment when lankbanking guarantees that their money makes money. They need to be forced to pay back into the economy.
