How long do you think you will live? There is research on aging that will allow us to remain young indefinitely. Imagine being biologically 30, but chronologically 90, 100, 200, even 400 years of age!
We need transhumanism that is data driven, not hype driven. Maybe transfer of consciousness is possible, we don't know yet. We first need to know what consciousness even is. In the mean time, the focus must be on curing and preventing illness, frailty and disease.

Would life extension, anti aging really result in overpopulation? Unlikely. Fertility rates are declining, even among developed countries. a post aging world also does not need to "stop having children" either. Here we see a similar fertility rate to that of modern developed countries.

Final results are in, the last mice died on Feb 12th.
Result verdict: Successful.
Aubrey De Grey: "I think we can call a "qualified win" with this study - we definitely demonstrated that damage-repair treatments can have additive impact on mouse lifespan when starting in middle age"

Yes, it's kind of getting out of hand. Worth pointing out they don't reflect how most people think. Polling data across europe and north america suggest people have nuanced views on generative AI (and AI in general).

On the tech side, the AI-scolding (and general anti-AI discourse) is really boring too. Even the mildest comment, like when I said I find it useful for some coding tasks, gets a torrent of abuse and dozens of blocks. The interesting research discussions are one of the few things I miss from Twitter

"negative time" isn't just a theoretical idea—it exists in a tangible, physical sense,
researchers emphasize that these perplexing results highlight a peculiar quirk of quantum mechanics rather than a radical shift in our understanding of time

Scientists observe 'negative time' in quantum experiments
Scientists have long known that light can sometimes appear to exit a material before entering it—an effect dismissed as an illusion caused by how waves are distorted by matter.

The appointment of Jim is bad news.

Aubrey De Grey worked with this guy when both of them were leaders in the Sens Foundation. Jim is not fit for any high level role. Thankfully Jim no longer works at Sens

I oppose full blown pardon, however, I would support clemency. Life without parole is considered a human rights violation in a number of European countries. This is especially true given Ross did not actually murder anyone. Nevertheless his crimes were egregious and the conviction should stand.
The President has granted a full pardon to Ross Ulbricht.

Ulbricht was convicted of conspiracy to commit money laundering, conspiracy to commit computer hacking, conspiracy to traffic narcotics, and engaging in a continuing criminal enterprise (often referred to as the “kingpin charge”).

33 years ago, on Christmas, a wonderful thing happened today: The flag of the USSR was lowered for the last time from the Kremlin.

The death of the USSR set millions of people free.

The sad part was the Russian tricolor🇷🇺 then rose - a symbol of new fascism.
