She/her, I donate to efficient anti poverty and anti aging research charities. My goal is 100.000 USD donations by 2040. I am a digital Painter. I support art whether it was made with Traditional, digital, and AI tools.
So how much progress are we making in anti aging? Quite a lot actually, and we have mouse models that show real potential and proof of concept. Despite the modest funds they received, they were able to make real progress.

With a low birth rate, we will see bad actors use it as an excuse to impose an inspired Gilead style authoritarianism to bump it up. This is a hell I want to avoid. With life extension, it will reduce the pressure to increase births rates (TFR). In fact, modern TFR will be fine with anti aging.

I believe getting aging under medical control solves many problems.
1) prevents cancers, heart disease, frailty, and dementia.
2)more bodily autonomy, control over our appearance and lifespan
3)reduces societal pressures to have children.
4) reduction in healthcare costs. (most HC costs from aging)

Without anti aging, we would likely see a population collapse, there is no high income country outside of Israel that has replacement fertility.

With a sustained fertility rate of 1.5, population would collapse.

Humans are are not mindless microbes on a dish, we can change our decisions with respect to timing of having children, based on long term outlooks on changes in society, technology, and the environment.

I also expect that we will over time get better at preventing non aging related fatalities. And I expect fertility rates overall would be lower, since with such longer lifespans, there would be less pressure to have children.

Predicting is hard, I don't have a crystal ball so I make educated guesses. I expect life extension technology to also allow for rejuvenated fertility which allows for parents to wait much longer before having children (waiting 75+ years might become the norm)

In the next study, they will use 7 or 8 treatments instead of just 4, and they will be applying treatments periodically rather than just once per lifetime. The combination of more treatments and periodic treatments should vastly extend mouse lifespan much more.

We will defeat aging

I really want to give Le Chat a try, (I want to support a european company in AI), but will wait and see if the quality us up there yet.

But yeah, the anti-ai crowd is getting on my nerves, from harassing Waymo cars, to trolling people on the internet. I just block them.

It depends very much on social media type. On reddit there is no shortage of +100 upvoted comments saying ai code has helped them. reddit is also a largely centre left site.
