I do not believe that my fervent optimism requires me to ignore pattern recognition and facts, or to trust people proven untrustworthy.
Optimism is what allows me not to fall into despair when bad people do bad things. But it does not require me to pretend bad things are not real.

If and when there is an industry wide crash the industry will go out of its way to go to the government and cry about how important they are to the overall economy and how they need a bailout. Of course they will. That wasn't the plan, it's just what you do.
