Finally some snow that lasts for more than a day. Almost lost hope for this winter.

Also made an attempt at a panorama shot. Not entirely happy with it, but as long as you ignore everything in the foreground, it should look okay.

Ötscher, Austria (1893 m)

Now these are some of my favorites. The Ötscher is the highest mountain in the Mostviertel, so when you're on top of it, you're above everything around you. Including some clouds on that day.

Bavarian Forest, Germany

This area suffers from bark beetle infestation, which is why there are so many dead trees.

I have no idea where exactly I took these pictures, but they should all be from somewhere in the Allgäu, Germany. And yes, I like taking pictures of the Alps lol.

Nothing special today. But I thought it looked nice.

And here are some pictures from the shore. Taken near Langenargen, Germany. The building is called Schloss Montfort.

As promised, here are some pictures I took at the Bodensee.

The island is Lindau in Germany, the shore and the mountains (Alps) to the left are in Switzerland. I was standing in Austria when I took the picture.

The Hochgrat is the highest mountain in the western Allgäu. When the weather is good, the view is just breathtaking.

Last batch for today: Hochgrat (Bavaria, Germany) and surrounding area.

Below the fog in the first two pictures is the Bodensee.

And as a bonus: Still in January 2019, this is the way to the lake. In some places the trees were so bent over the path that I had to crawl under them.

This is January 2019. The last time I saw this much snow there.

Something that is really amazing to see is how a place changes in color and light when you visit it in different seasons. The following pictures were all taken at the Wildseemoor (Black Forest, Germany) over a span of 5 years.

This is in May 2024.
