Two moments were pivotal when I was a college freshman (2000). 1) We read Gender Outlaw and it was the first time I recognized the fragility of the binary construct 2) A classmate had top surgery, & he talked about how meaningful it was to see the correct gender marker on his hospital wristband

In my years of working with these kids, so often I have been the only adult who listens to them and helps them hold on to hope for transition in adulthood. What I've seen is miles beyond heartbreaking. I have no words for the evil of ghouls who write and publish garbage like this.
