Both funny and sad that Luke is more in-character in the new Dr. Aphra comic than in the comic he's currently headlining

I adore Shakespeare. But I HATE how it's often taught.

Shakespeare is not meant to be read, it's meant to performed and watched.

Also, stop only teaching tragedies. Bill was primarily a comedy writer. Comedy of Errors is much better introduction to The Bard than Romeo and Juliet is.

My take on Bail saying "shit":

A bad director would use a Star Wars curse word, reducing the impact of the scene.

A good director would use a real curse to make the scene more impactful.

But a GREAT director is one who could use a Star Wars curse and make it just as impactful as a real one

Annoying twitter guys: "I can't believe Dave Filoni FORCED Tony Gilroy to include references to CARTOONS made for BABIES."

Meanwhile, Tony Gilroy and Beau Willimon: "You know what this episode needs? A subplot about this Clone Wars guy huffing jet fuel!"

So, the Empire oppresses the Ghor, manipulates the media to dehumanize them, and purposely incites a resistance movement so they can brand all the Ghor as terrorists and justify their indiscriminate slaughter and genocide.

Sounds familiar

With more Andor episodes coming out tonight, I need to put this video back into people's minds.

It will be a crime if Andor ends with Cassian having never met Jabba, Diego Luna deserves at least that for his excellent performance in the role.

Thomas Jefferson is so funny because he was slave owner supreme, but on practically every other issue was the 2nd most radically progressive founding father.

Like, him and Thomas Paine would straight up be calling for Trump and all his allies to be publicly executed.

Trump's tariffs are so goddamn stupid.

Sure, some amount of protectionism can help local industries. But it can only boost existing growth. First, you need government subsidies and high-risk loans to kick-start the growth.

Both of which the Trump admin has cut, because Elon is a fucking imbecile.

Probably the MCU's biggest failing is that it doesn't try to get people to read comics. It tries to be a replacement, which is evident by things like trying rebrand the MCU as 616, instead of letting it coexist with Earth-616 from the comics.

Anyone that is interest in comics as an artistic medium NEEDS to read Absolute Martian Manhunter. It's absolutely incredible, and it needs to sell well so DC continues to take risks instead of playing it safe

Also, you need to get a physical copy, there's a super cool gimmick you won't want to miss
May 5, 2025 at 2:58 AM
Now, I understand that Andor is meant to be a prequel to Rogue One and so is setting Krennic up as the villain.

But come on, we were ROBBED of having Thrawn be the one at Sculdun's art collection!

Sam Wilson is really like "You believe in those phony 'New Avengers'? That pale in effectiveness to my strategy, putting together a team led by me." And then doesn't put together a team.

The appeal of Screen X completely eludes me.

If you're not meaningfully using the side screens and everything happens on the main screen, that will feel more artificial, not immersive.

A film would need to be filmed exclusively for Screen X to be able to actually use it well, which won't happen

8/10. Absolutely gorgeous film with interesting themes and one of the best scores I've ever heard, but somewhat lacking in the fear department.

Take my rating with a grain of salt, since I'm not very knowledgeable about the horror genre.

More detailed thoughts in this thread.

In case anyone is hungry for more compelling Imperial characters like Dedra and Cyril after Andor is done, read Lost Stars.

Nash Windrider, in particular, is one of my favorite characters in the entire franchise and it's a crime he hasn't shown up in any other projects since then.

The scene with Syril, his mother, and Dedra might actually be some of the funniest Star Wars we have ever gotten.

The cut to him lying on the bed KILLED me.

Plus, it's nice to see a fascist girlboss stick up for her boyfailure boyfriend. PUT THAT OLD POS IN HER PLACE!

Possibly fun game for moots and more. Try to guess things about me based on my top spotify genres. (Can be anything, from personality traits to age. Serious and joke guesses are both welcome). I'll let you know if you're right or wrong.

Then QT with your own top genres (I got mine from Obscurify)
