‘Believe the dress, not the donor’ is one of my collecting policies.
Here’s an example at the Aust War Memorial showing why that’s important, that research and evidence needs to be adhered to. Maybe the AWM needs a fashion curator or at least, more sensitivity. I hope they take the jacket down.
