The wonder that is Carcassonne. I do love a medieval walled city.

Some nice stained glass from the Strasbourg Cathedral. An incredible building, and I’m not easily impressed by churchy stuff.

Lit a candle for my mum, who never travelled to Europe but would have loved it too.

A nice example of Australian built heritage with an important public function: the cast iron pissoir at Dawes Point. Just a pity, now that it's heritage-listed, that it's no longer available for its designed purpose! Maybe they could lease it to a coffee purveyor ?

Sydney's heritage-listed urinal tells story of Australia's public loos
Tucked away at Dawes Point, under Sydney Harbour Bridge, is one of the city's most unexpected heritage-listed sites: a cast-iron urinal.

Fifty years ago today. Suffice to say that my life would have been very different had I not rocked up, aged 15 to see RHPS one midnight Sunday, at Perth's Kimberley cinema.

Later, I joined my local audience participation team as Janet (Dammit). Such good times. Thanks Seb, wherever you are x
The Rocky Horror Picture Show opened on US screens 50 years ago today. Initially a major box office bomb, cult cinema outsiders and queer audiences quickly took up the film’s mantle and turned it into a unique and exciting way of engaging with the movies. Remember kids, don’t dream it—be it!!

Some nice tailoring on display at the Martin Grant exhibition at the NGV. Love a nicely shaped coat or jacket: Mr Grant is very good at this. #fashionexhibition #australianfashion

Popped into the NGV to see the Kimono exhibition. Loved these styles by Poiret, Callots Soeurs, Liberty and McQueen plus an embroidered kimono I would wear the heck out of.

Just finished @karinslaughter.com 'We Are All Guilty Here' and trust me, if you like crime fic, you'll love this one.

Karin's created a rich, detailed world: a family dynasty, a small town full of possibilities. At it's heart lies a big family secret. Top marks to audio narrator Kathleen Early.

Vale Georgio Armani, a man whose name is a byword for style and quality.

The most extraordinary suit I've ever had was a late '60s Cerruti 1881, three piece in green wool and printed velvet. It was beautifully made and stunning enough for a rockstar's wedding.

Seen in a shop window in Moonee Ponds.

The notice is strange and intiguing, poetic, even. Who is Clementine? What happens if you don’t go to bed? What happens if you do?

All becomes clear when reading more notices, but the romance has gone.

A lovely story about how old clothes create connections and safety.

I desperately wanted my grandma’s spotty ‘60s dress but it was lost to time. Her Festival of Britain street sketched portrait now hangs on my wall.

Thanks Kingston library! Your summary is succinct, accurate and very pleasing. Time to write a new book, I think.

Vale Terence Stamp, one of the greats.

On Saturday, Terence had a cameo in my talk on '60s fashion at Mornington Library: he amiably played handsome date to Jean Shrimpton at her big Aussie moment at Flemington Races in 1965.

Travel safely Terence: you will be missed.
