So the last couple of days of HRRR runs has done amazingly well with the location and coverage of storms this far north and east at this time. Just made it into TUL by the skin of my teeth.

It’s mid-November, and it is entirely disgusting to open up my back door and see “sweaty” concrete. Not surprising to see double digit 24-hour dew point increases around here given the above.

Forecasters can still absolutely add value to the NBM - even on Day 6 of a forecast. Knowing when the blend struggles and how it struggles is important. Had my eye on today since the middle of last week. Today’s highs (and resulting fire wx concerns) were a slam dunk “NBM too low” scenario.

WOW. This might be a first – a formal special marine warning for SNOWSPOUTS, or winter waterspouts.
These are the same as warm-season waterspouts, but they're forming beneath snow squalls.
It's because of the EXTREME contrast between the warm lake waters and frigid air above!
