To the conspiracy theorists: Tell me you don’t work in city planning without telling me. Those plans are years in the making-from engineering, geological, population research etc. How could tiny Jamaica even orchestrate a hurricane???

I’m looking forward to reading it! When I was a younger Christian I had so much anxiety about my life choices… and still do. This books sounds like it will be an important book for our times.

Interesting. I understood the word “balm” to be healing and soothing. But I understood balmy to mean hot/humid. Balmy weather makes so much more sense if it’s cool but pleasant.

This is Doug Ford’s Ontario. Since September we’ve had a leaking ceiling. My classroom is bursting at the seams. I have to personally repair broken chairs and desks.There aren’t enough textbooks for students. The few Chromebooks we have are missing keys.

And Then it Happened is a big hit with our kids, especially the boys. I found myself laughing out loud at many points -and I’m usually pretty hard to impress when it’s bedtime.

to understand the gospel, I imagine that white Christians in the West will understand Christ more from reading biblical interpretations from those in the margins as oppose to the biblical interpretations of those in power. 3/3

and 3- the affirmation of redemptive and liberative communal unity. I wonder if her work should also be understood through the lens of Black Liberation Theology and that Morrison herself writes as a womanist theologian, and more specifically Morrison writes with a womanist midrash approach. 2/3
