How is it legal for Google to start recording your phone calls without you asking them to? Why should we have to opt outand how can we trust that we have been opted out? Not acceptable and surely illegal?😠 #googleprivacy

Farage has long hitched himself to Donald Trump's bandwagon. With Trump putting his signature to latest US National Security Strategy it means Farage is now closely associated with policy positions that undermine UK's vital national interest against Putin's nefarious designs. There is a word for it!

Excellent thread on Barbara Castle and the introduction of the breathalyser!

It's an episode with an important moral: that having the courage to do the right thing, even if it's unpopular at the time, can save lives and bring public opinion with it over time.
This week is Road Safety Week & a chance to talk about Barbara Castle!

Barbara was Transport Minister for three years yet she was able to introduce the Breathalyzer, a proper integrated transport strategy & more!

This was done despite fierce opposition.

Linking green energy to your local school, your hospital, your workplace is a really smart thing to do.

The anti-Net Zero movement wants to cast it as some top-down, abstract diktat that will make "ordinary people" cold and poor.

So the fightback needs to emphasise its tangible, local benefits.

That was a mistake. But I find this much worse⬇️
Farage uses tax avoidance vehicles meaning he paid only 25% corporation tax on profits, instead of 40% income tax, but his supporters see this as a virtue and of course there's a very legal difference between this kind of avoidance and evasion www.theguardian.com/politics/202...
