Christmas, the birthday of the Creator's radically non-transactional love incarnate, which we celebrate with transactional exchanges.

May we receive with joy and no unease about what we're unable to give back.

May we give with cheer and no expectation of quid pro quo.

something you have to understand about Trump & his weird comments about the economy is that the dude hasn't paid for anything like a normal person in decades - never pumps gas, never buys groceries - so he's completely & utterly out of touch with what life is like for most of us

TIL Meta (FB and Insta) earns about $26.73 per user per month from advertising.

89 cents a day becomes $6.7 billion per month.

And mostly from U.S. and Canada, despite that being under 10% of the user base, because apparently North America buys more crap than anyone.
Question of the Day: How much money does Meta (owner of Facebook and Instagram) make each month from its average user in the U.S. and Canada? - Blog
You know the old saying: "If a product is free, then you are the product" Answer: $26.73 per user, per month (with 250 million active users!) Questions:  If Facebook doesn’t charge you...

What I always hear: “We can’t afford to pay our workers more than $15 an hour.”

What I never hear: “We can’t afford to pay our CEO millions of dollars a year.”

Funny how that works.

Hospitals, insurers, drug companies & private-equity backed provider networks all make a lot of money from our healthcare system & they all lobby against Medicare for All.

The question isn’t “why don’t we have Medicare for All?” It’s “who exactly would lose money if we did?”

But inclusivity does not mean whitewashing far-right pro-Russian conspiracy theorists like Marjorie Taylor Greene.
