All My Best Skeets Has Typos.

Just keeping the same thing as other places, probably should be updated: Dad wearing a lot of odd-job hats. Writer. Photographer. No longer a teacher. he/him
Last three albums of the road trip. Not sure I like other Russell albums, but Carney is really good and shows his unique voice. Lunatic Soul is cool ambeint prog rock stuff from '08. Temple of the Dog! Found this at my first stop and I'm elated! The album I always looked for 1st in any store. #vinyl

The Little Steven Album was seven bucks and at that price dang right I'd jump on it. The New York Dolls album falls in the category of "I'd own it eventually so why not now" and hey - The Weather Report will always be good. #vinyl

So - took the day off work for a Road Trip to get gluten free fish and chips (also poutine, mushroom caps and mozza sticks) and hit some record stores. Came away with 9 new albums. 8 I bought, one, the ZZ Top album gifted by my road trip buddy. #vinyl

Been on a shorgaze kick this week. I love this Slowdive album so I went looking to see if it was at my local store. It was! But while randomly flipping through other records I came across this “Record Store Day Essential” release of Bill Withers live and I had to buy it too. New #vinyl #nowspinning

Most important though: proof of concept established. With how good these were for a first ever try Decent enough Gluten Free Dumplings might be in my life and I’m pretty freaking stoked about that.

Had preordered this some months back and got it last week but the truth is John Cusack sold it to me 25 years ago and it just took a long time to get it here. Lol. #vinyl

And one last fav movie dad, an under the radar one: Bruce Willis from Unbreakable. Things are real complicated in this one but as a portrait of a dad who maybe doesn't feel like he knows how to connect to his kid but is trying it's another really honest and sweet portrayal of a father son dynamic.

Here's another fav movie dad. Jefferson Morales ain't perfect, but he loves his kid and tries his best wants to understand and help him.

Oh one of my favs right here. I *adore* US and on my first watch a big big reason was Winston Duke's dad energy and vibes in it. I just loved how real he felt.

I’ve only read section one so far but these are all incredible.

Definitely can’t wait till I can afford a Haymarket Books subscription again as it’s how I get brilliant things like this amazing collection of poetry.

Mark Colley is doing the best with what he's got to work with.

I don't know if this falls under "incredibly important news update" or "what the hell are we even doing here" so I leave you all to decide for yourselves.

#nowspinning some Tom Waits tunes to accompany chores. Usually more of a late-night album for me, but it’ll work! #vinyl

So my kid told me, in reference to the new Oblivion Remaster, “Well it is a just released Bethesda game, so you might just fall through a hole in the world or something.”

And he was right!

The Shed-Monster in his happy place. (So much hair, everywhere, right now. This is our first spring with him.)

Now spinning my newest #vinyl #jazz album - and probably the most polarizing album I own. It is probably either something approaching transcendent or the worst example of “thats not music its just screeching noise” depending on your point of view. I love it. Haunts me. #jazzsky.

Been watching The Man With No Name trilogy this week and no one does, “I’m just going to stare at you and you’re going to be terrified” like Lee Van Cleef did.

A while back I bought a friend and I copies of the Dao De Jing. Once he was having a bad day and I rattled off something that aped the form to try and lift his spirits. We laughed, and sometimes he'll seek more. Yesterday he felt terrible for blowing a test and steam-of-thought I sent this to him.

So apparently next month I get to go and maybe be selected for Jury Duty, and, looking up some info - this is messed up, yeah? Like - how many average-paid-by-the-hour people can afford to lose 10 days pay?

It doesn’t look special, but I just made this carbonara (gluten free noodles) with duck egg yolks, kielbasa and ragusano stagionato (a cheese I’m trying for the first time ever) and I’m feeling fancy as fuck.

Had some good things to celebrate today week, so I treated myself to some new #vinyl which I’m #nowspinning a couple classics and a Gaslight Anthem album that I’m almost embarrassed by what I paid for it, but which I couldn’t pass up - it being an absolute favourite and unlikely to be easy to find.
