When they announced it would be a dance off, I knew I’d clean up into the finals (that and the middle aged white women—so everyone—LOVED me). Ultimately lost to the girl Johnny who came with a large group so she got more cheers to determine the winner.

Mountain Lake Lodge is very old and the jetted two person tub in our room is probably from the 80s and all I can think is “is this the sink?! Am I shrinking?!” If you get this reference, we are friends.

About to finish this, and I like it and I know it’s the first of a series but it really did feel like I was dropped in the middle of a world and history that I was expected to know from page one which really threw me off for most of the story💙📚

Like it or Not: another great track and I really think she means it when she says “You can love me or leave me cause I’m never gonna stop”. A strong closing to a fan favorite album…which bring us to Hard Candy, probs my least favorite and played album.

Easy Ride: the final track on American Life is actually in the upper tier for me and it has everything to do with the beat drop at the 2 minute mark. Next up:

Me in the morning not thinking a lengthy run and gym time prior to a late soccer match where I had to mark the most insanely fit 32 year old woman maybe wasn’t such a great idea (she’s also a friend). Fun match, fun opponent but I will feel it tomorrow. I’m fast but I’m no longer her kind of fast

American Life: I preordered this CD and picked it up on the way to a friend’s funeral so I will associate it with him. If I’m reading the vibes correctly, this album, though frowned upon initial release, is, like Erotica, more appreciated these days. As for the title track, I love it and her rap.

Next up: Music! Between RofL and Confessions (two peaks in the eyes of many Madonna fans) Music perhaps gets a little overshadowed by those two AND the vitriol for American Life. But this is a solid set of 10 tracks including the number one title track and Don’t Tell Me, another big hit.

You can’t see it but I’m currently reading Culpability by Bruce Holsinger and I don’t know if this is good for me or not. The last time I felt so existentially dreadful is when I read The Deluge Stephen Markley and my therapist and I spent weeks unpacking my reaction to that novel. 📚💙📚💙

Take a Bow: a nice track that radio and consumers got behind and made a hit. A reminder that the dance diva can put out a popular ballad (4/12 of her #1 songs). Next up, the album that brought back some fair weather fans post Vogue.

We are working with the little, younger one on longer periods outside the crate when we are at work and things are going well. But the older, bigger one seems to get shut in the bathroom at some point and not able to get out until we get home 🤔
