I once took a CB training on Pre-AP English 9 that our district never ended up adopting. Don’t know if they’re still trying to sell that one as well these days

We haven’t hit that point but it’s in the conversation due to the revamping of what honors means. But the meetings I have attended about this, the vibe is that it’s not a good step for us so I’m hoping that doesn’t change.

In my day, you got dropped off. No siblings, no parents. It’s also why I never had birthday parties —my mom would never host anything like that. MORE children in/around the house? She just vacuumed.

Many districts in my area are going AP seminar (for all) in place of English 10 and not one book will be read. I teach elective AP seminar and there is no time for books. Some I have talked to mentioned maybe one short novella. It’s depressing. I teach 5-7 books with my 10th graders.

Oh I don’t think there is any actual reading of the book involved. It usually starts with “I heard this book…” or “I read online that this book…”.

Another memorable visitor for us was the detective bee who told us her life story looking for Casper and every three words, she coughed at us . But all the kids were adorable and we are always looking forward to Halloween!
