“Disinformation” describes a special extra bad type of lie. It’s not remotely sugarcoating
disinformation /dis-in"fer-mã'shen / noun 1. Deliberately misleading information announced publicly or leaked by a government or especially by an intelligence agency in order to influence public opinion or the government in another nation. 2. Dissemination of such misleading information. 3. The dissemination of intentionally false information to deliberately confuse or mislead.

What are we doing here. Why are people like this
Two threaded posts by me: O'Leary is lying here...the words he's saying dent match Mamdani's policies as shown on the screen while he's talking. Rent freezes on RENT STABILIZED apartments, ie units built before 1974. Newly constructed buildings aren't affected. To be fair the screen also says 200k new rent stabilized units - but that hardly means all new construction will have rent freezes. O'Leary is also talking about office and retail space, even though Mamdani's proposal only applies to housing. He's intentionally spreading disinformation. Under my posts, someone (username redacted) replied, “you meant to say…he’s lying.” In my posts above, I have circled the words “O’Leary is lying here” and “intentionally spreading disinformation”

Why don't WindBorne balloons pose a risk to airplanes? The quick answer is that our balloons are designed to be sufficiently lightweight that they are safe even in the unlikely event of a collision. Before we dive into collision physics, it's worth zooming out to note that we're fully airspace compliant, domestically and internationally (more on this in our next FAQ). We go above and beyond to be good stewards of the sky: we take extra measures to coordinate with airspace authorities when we launch balloons. We also openly share the real-time location data of our aloft constellation with our government and regulatory partners, so they can easily and precisely view our balloons' location at any time. At its heaviest, a WindBorne balloon is about 2.4 pounds, or ~1 kg. Throughout flight, the balloon drops ballast and gets progressively lighter. By comparison, the average Canada goose weighs 8.5 pounds. The FAA's focus on weight - they allow balloons under 4 pounds - is driven by lower mass meaning a lower energy and thus safer collision. Now, back to the question of aircraft: if a balloon and airplane were to get close, generally the airflow around the plane would push a light object like a WindBorne balloon away. In the unlikely event of an actual collision with an aircraft, our balloon would disintegrate upon impact. This is due to the light, dispersed composition of the ballast. The ballast is the heaviest part of our balloon, which is primarily sand housed in the same thin film that our envelope (the balloon part of the balloon) is made of. The film is 20 microns thick, less than half the thickness of a single human hair, and is built to break on impact to disperse the energy. This interaction would be different, for example, if the object were a hard, dense solid (like a brick or ball) and not…(text cuts off)
