Closed out our church's 15-month journey through Acts. This was one of my main takeaways:
The Spirit is never hindered by our wounds or our waiting or our anxieties or our uncertainties. If anything, the Spirit does some of the most astonishing work in places we think are the most constrained.

THREAD: Judge Ellis is the first federal judge to review extensive body cam video of DHS's actions in Chicago. She finds that DHS *repeatedly* misled the public and made claims that were disproven by agents' own videos.

The Court next addresses the credibility of the parties’ evidence and witnesses. After reviewing all the evidence submitted to the Court and listening to the testimony elicited at the preliminary injunction hearing, during depositions, and in other court proceedings, the Court finds Defendants’ evidence simply not credible. Plaintiffs submitted a mountain of evidence, providing the Court with over eighty declarations, numerous videos and articles, and other evidence. Defendants did not rebut anything that Plaintiffs set forth in their declarations or testimony, even with BWC footage.
[FN 6] In another case considering some of the same evidence presented to this Court, another court in this district also found that the perceptions of certain of Defendants’ declarants, such as Hott and Parra, were not reliable. See Illinois v. Trump, No. 25-cv-12174, 2025 WL 2886645, at *5 (N.D. Ill. In the midst of all of the overwhelming chaos and cruelty around us, we wanted to be intentional about remembering and reclaiming that there are things we do have agency in, namely the relationships in which we can offer real healing — or cause real harm.

Feds and MPD already out around H St NE. Just detained a delivery driver on 13th—a witness said he saw them knock the guy off his moped with a car. Neighbors were out to take video and get his name and info.

The new policy says that DC may share info with ICE about people "not in MPD custody (e.g., during traffic stops)," but they remain barred from sharing info for people they detain. So it suggests delaying traffic stops to give ICE time to get there, to do an end-run around DC's sanctuary laws.
