Friends, from my profile you can tell that in the race for NYC mayor I strongly favor Zohran. But it's also true that for today and tomorrow, perhaps the single most effective intervention Z supporters can make in the race is to give $10 each to Adrienne, Brad, Jessica, & Zellnor. Here's why. 🧵

I've already had two federal grants terminated and face a 33% pay cut due to future terminations. It's painful, but not as painful as the conversations I'm having every day with brilliant trainees in graduate school and postdoctoral positions who see little future for themselves in US science.

Really important piece to share widely. Too many Americans don’t know how severe a threat this Administration poses to our scientific infrastructure, global leadership, and health security

What we learned on the #HudsonSwim2023? No river heals on its own – protecting them takes decades of commitment, advocacy, and action.

On #InternationalDayOfActionForRivers, join us in revisiting its restoration story 🏞️🌍⬇️

These times have reinforced for me that we live and work in a broken system. So I'm grateful for the community at Praxis Activate NYC who inspired me to hope, imagination, and redemptive world-building. #faithinaction with www.praxis.co

This #ValentinesDay #IHeartEstuaries! Estuaries make up only 4% of the continental US but 🏡 to 40% of the US population and 47% of the US GDP. Intact, healthy estuaries and coasts are critical in the protection against the worst effects of climate change. Where in #NYC was this 📷 taken? Comment 👇🏼

“Cohen frames Metropolitan Park as an all-or-nothing choice, but we don’t have to settle…a casino that would increase congestion, prey on Asian communities and exploit the earnings of the working class should not be used to justify the creation of green space.“

Loved having New York Harbor School join me and Biohabitats earlier this fall to talk about our Tidal Planter, nature-based solutions from around the world, and the critical role of local youth in making NYC #cleanergreenerfairer. What a great group of students!
