If you think Elon did nothing offensive, perhaps try it yourself at work or at school or in Germany or Austria and see how that goes for you.

DOJ here is acceding to a direct order from the White House not to pursue specific ongoing criminal cases. It’s been a multistep process aided by last summer’s Supreme Court decision in Trump v US, but this is the concrete end of the DOJ’s independence.
Justice Dept has begun process of seeking dismissal of pending Jan 6 cases

No matter where you fall on the TikTok ban, the President undoing by “executive order” a law passed by Congress and upheld unanimously by the Supreme Court is an unconstitutional abuse of power.

Wishing everyone everywhere peace and inspiration. Come what may, let us stand strong for all that is right and just. Let us defend those who are being mistreated, and live with kindness and respect as Martin Luther King hoped we would . Our task is clear. ❤️

TikTok is back up. This is all such performative nonsense by the kleptocrats and hypocrites who run DC. And we look like idiots to the CCP. Bluff called and we are flaccid.

A reminder Monday that there will be an avalanche of executive orders.

Mass deportations will start.

Meanwhile, the House and Senate will try to ram through a bunch of bad bills.

Do not get lost in a sea of despair.

That is what they want.

Prepare yourselves now.

To those who are so upset about the TikTok ban, a reminder that it was the orange convicted felon that signed the executive order back in 2020 to eventually ban the platform. If he does bring it back, it’ll be to take credit for something he intentionally wanted to fuck up.

What’s the difference between a gov controlling an algorithm, silently eliminating reach for things it doesn’t like, vs the same gov using its power, to demand that the platform remove the things it doesn’t like.?

In China they are overt. With TikTok in the US, they control silently

Has always been the plan
Is Trump suggesting state owned media? I can’t stress how dangerous this is. I’m also concerned no one will care because they’ll get to keep their TikTok

Failing the test would result in termination

The opening of a Walmart Supercenter leads to an increase in local poverty rates.

This increase in poverty rates persists for 10 years following the Supercenter’s entry.

Increases in poverty are particularly strong for younger, less-educated, and lower income adults.
