We started working on visual cues to indicate part damage. Later we'll be adding in heavier cuff marks and trying out a dissolve effect that reveals parts of the mecha skeleton underneath (when it has taken heavy damage) + also add in some fire and smoke particles #gamedev #indiedev #mecha

Here's a very work-in-progress backpack mortar attack from our game. The camera view is typically more isometric and top-down, but I lowered it so you can see the mortar better. :) #mecha #madewithunity #indiedev

The missiles are starting to feel pretty good. Sometimes they look a bit out of control but I think that's fine. I reduced the amount of vertices in the flight path which gives it a bit more sharper turns. Helps to give it slight Itano Circus -style vibes. #gamedev #mecha #vfx

We started working on backpack attachments system (twin cannon, missile launcher and mortar) and today I've been focusing on the missile attack and missile flight paths. Started with a simple projectile arc and then randomising it with some swirls and other magic. #gamedev #mecha

It's really difficult to make good looking idle animation that isn't your typical human-like breathing pose. Our animators have worked really hard to make these loops feel mechanical and it's starting to pay off.
