Excellent, thank you Tony!

Oh and looking at his birth reg, he may have been born at Buckby Wharf so hits for both of my #OnePlaceStudies!

Turns out that none of the WW1 names are matching up with anything I've got, however your list of WW2 names has given me one, thank you! George Dorsett KIA 5 June 1944 is the son of boatman Mark William, and mum Susan Halford comes from a boat family too. Not in my tree yet but working on them!

You star! Thank you, just having a quick look at your site and I can see some likely surnames. So far I've got mostly Staffs, Worcs, Cheshire, Warwicks Regiments for the 25 deaths that I know of. But there are going to be so many more...

I have a folder titled Wills to Sort 🤣 It's complicated because there's Buckby Wharf, #BoatFamilies, & my family and some Wills fit into more than 1 category! I started buying Wills when the report first came out because of the threat of rising costs, so I have a nice little back-log 😆 #Genhour

I haven't even tried looking for the War Memorials yet - they could be recorded anywhere or nowhere! I need to find the families first to narrow down to a county, hopefully. #GenHour

There doesn't seem to be free access to the WW1 pension ledgers😭, have tried using the linked page and by going through the website to the free access.

Embrace your inner sloth for a while, it will get better! Good luck with the treatment💜

🤣even better, several of my boat families had the decency to have their wills probated in Leics and Staffs, both of which are on FindMyPast!

I don't think mine is much better! Most of the wills are for the land owners around the area rather than Wharf residents, especially pre 20th century.
And as far as #BoatFamilies go the percentage is probably closer to 5% at best🤣

I've put one order in already and am now doing the same as you to try and get as many as possible. If only occupations were included throughout the Index! #OnePlaceWednesday
