The Garnet Fire — CA's 3rd largest of 2025 — made a significant run on Sunday and into Monday, burning through an additional 12K acres up a large drainage full of dead and downed trees in the Sierra Nevada foothills near Shaver Lake.

Emergency responders found four unused personal flotation devices, or PFDs, and one life ring at the site where the boat capsized, with more PFDs stowed on the capsized boat, including some that were still in their packaging.

At Yosemite’s Ahwahnee, employees reported food contamination issues from rodents in the kitchen ceiling above food prep areas. Rodents were also seen in the Ahwahnee Bar, which health inspectors shut down multiple times last year.
