We're over the moon to have four guest spinners joining WVPA head honchos Brian and Louis behind the piano in Downes' on #VinylFriday. Expect a night of old friends, familiar faces and new acquaintances, and that's just the music. The needle hits the groove at 8.30pm.

Saddened to hear of the death of Paul Durcan. He was one of the first people I heard talking publicly about mental health, and remember seeing people practically hanging from rafters at a reading, in I think Kilmainham. Got this at Xmas, seems more poignant now. ‘And I'm searching for, Luxembourg’ 💛

Sadly, someone decided not to clean up after their beach barbecue! ☹️ Our beach cleaners also found huge amounts of cigarette butts all over the beach yesterday 🌊
And we had a farewell coffee to say goodbye to Ciara, one of our volunteers who is setting off travelling today! Best of luck Ciara 🙂

Delighted to say that a blog article I wrote has been taken up by the Mills and Millers of Ireland newsletter. It's about the millstone quarries in the Waterford harbour area, they even used Liam Ryan's stunning image for the cover.

Grange Stone circle, on Lough Gur, in Co Limerick, is the largest stone circle in Ireland. Tho it is sunny in these shots, as we arrived on the mound, out of nowhere, loud thunder roared, and the first rain in weeks soaked us to the skin.

Consider shouting for France after this 🫵🏼 #IREvFRA #Ukraine
French Senator Claude Malhuret:

"Washington has become Nero’s court, with an incendiary emperor, submissive courtiers and a jester high on ketamine... We were at war with a dictator, we are now at war with a dictator backed by a traitor."

Terrific new book on Ireland's round towers by Christiaan Corlett!

It's beautifully illustrated with Chris's fantastic photographs, making for a very accessible and insightful study of these iconic Irish monuments.
