Members of Tramore Eco Group were delighted to visit Ardscoil na Mara yesterday with Ella Ryan, Environmental Officer at Waterford City & County Council, to see the amazing garden projects created by the pupils in the school grounds! Well done to all the students and staff involved! 🌱

Wet n’ wild for our beach clean today! Picking through the seaweed we found lots of rubbish thrown up by the stormy weather 🌊 Of course we had to warm up with coffee and cake at Molly’s afterwards ☕️🍰

We finally had a break from the rain for our beach clean on Wednesday! After the recent stormy weather, we found lots of tiny pieces of plastic and rope buried in the seaweed 🌊

A beautiful morning at the Sand Dunes with David Jacob (NPWS) 😊
We reviewed completed fencing and planned where further work is needed to protect against erosion from the sea and weather 🌊
We also highlighted areas where a small minority trample or slide down the dunes and destabilise them 🙁

We almost blew away at our beach clean yesterday! Despite the strong winds and cold, we managed to remove lots of the usual rubbish from the seaweed and the beach 😊 Thanks to Cara Day Services for coming out to help us!

A lovely, bright and sunny New Year's Day marked our 1st bird watch of the year 🎉
We were treated to sightings of Brent Geese, Golden Plover, Godwits, Curlew - too many to count!!!

The backstrand is home to beautiful Brent geese which can be seen feeding in this photo 🪿 Please keep dogs on the lead in this area so the geese can feed in peace 🐕‍🦺🦮 While dogs may not mean to harm the birds, they run around and scare them away 😕
