One of my portrait painting heroes. He painted other subjects besides portraits, as do I. He painted in watercolours and oil paints, as do I. Like him, I do not wish to be pigeonholed.
John Singer Sargent was born on this day in 1856.
Sargent's output as a portrait painter was impressive, but he also produced a large number of landscapes on his travels in Spain, Italy, and Switzerland.

I create drawings where I stand before the model and draw with a pencil, using eye, hand and brain - nothing else. When I search drawing on here, I am not finding many without the aid the of machines.This was a ten minute drawing.

The little pops of yellow, as daffodils bloom across Jersey are always a welcome sight for me. Right now there are some flowering in Jersey, as we live in a microclimate.
