-Early estimates are ~30k in Chicago. Not bad.
-Organizers didn't seem prepared for that many b/c they asked people to (checks notes) SIGN UP?
-Protests in small towns in red states were most heartening.
-Many black friends stayed home. I get why, but hope its not permanent. We need them.

The migrant accusation was politically motivated, and THIS outbreak was among a very specific sect of Mennonites but there was a breakout in a migrant shelter last year here in Chicago. However, Mennonites are more diverse than you think- My church:

So far, All the references to Mennonites here on Bluesky bear little resemblance to my urban Chicago, multicultural experience, but, yes, potlucks are universal. #mennonite

Sometimes I work on personal creative projects *outside* of work (shocking!)!
Recently I finished an Advent piece that builds week upon week. While it shows I'm a beginner working with fabric, I'm still pleased that folks seem to like it!
