To put a finer point on it. Trump’s contention isn’t just that he can deport people without them appearing before a judge, but that he can render them into a life sentence in a foreign dungeon with no process whatsoever.
President Trump asserted on Tuesday that undocumented immigrants should not be entitled to trials, insisting that his administration should be able to deport them without appearing before a judge.
Trump Says Undocumented Immigrants Shouldn’t Get Trials Before Deportation
The president claimed that countries were sending their prisoners to the United States and that he needed to bypass the constitutional demands of due process to expel them quickly.

Yes, yes abolishing the exceptionally rigorous foreign service exam and appointing diplomats based on vibes should work beautifully to find the most competent people.
3/ It appears to essentially abolish what we now know as the foreign service. Immediately ends the foreign service exam. Institutes new system based on things like "demonstrated charisma", "verbal authenticity", "alignment with President's foreign policy vision", et al.

As a TX taxpayer I have always gladly paid taxes to support our public school systems, even tho I don’t have kids in them.

I am not as glad about my taxes being taken from the public school system to support private religious institutions at the expense of public schools.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Almost 90 degrees in Atlanta this weekend, the air gritty and thick with pollen, the streets and sidewalks lemonade yellow. But people had something to say. #handsoff #handsoffatlanta

Our nation is in a battle to define reality. Describing what you see is not “virtue signaling," “pearl clutching” or “finger wagging” or any other cliche meant to minimize the importance of speaking truth. If you see the emperor's not wearing any clothes, then go ahead and describe his naked butt.

every person involved in this needs to be in prison
“One young man sobbed when a guard pushed him to the floor. He said, ‘I’m not a gang member. I’m gay. I’m a barber.’ I believed him. *** He “began to whimper,” as his head was roughly shaved, “folding his hands in prayer as his hair fell.” He “asked for his mother & cried as he was slapped again.”

I am for the prisoners at the bar, and shall apologize for it only in the words of the Marquis Beccaria: “If I can but be the instrument of preserving one life, his blessing and tears of transport, shall be a sufficient consolation to me, for the contempt of all mankind.”

On projected revenue:

To put $500 billion in context, the US spent ~$825 billion on the Defense Department in fiscal 2024.

The current tax gap is $700 billion. Think about almost doubling the tax gap in a single year.
🚨 Big SCOOP 🚨

Tax revenue could fall by as much as **10%** this year, per sources, as taxpayers and businesses see the Trump admin as less likely to challenge tax cheats.

That'd be **$500 BILLION** in lost revenue.

It'd nearly double the tax gap in a single year.
Tax revenue could drop by 10 percent amid turmoil at IRS
Staff cuts and disruptions related to the U.S. DOGE Service have officials bracing for a sharp loss of revenue.

For decades, liberals have tried to use government to protect themselves from the extremes and overreaches of Big Business. Now our nation has empowered Big Business to protect us from government. Raise your hand if you feel protected.

and the choice of that strategy tells you they are afraid you *will* do something about it
