Author of two award-winning novels (The Say So and Over the Plain Houses). Still kayaking Southern rivers and sleeping on the ground.
Haw. But I still think adding new material is infinitely easier than paring down, at least in a novel….

Our nation is in a battle to define reality. Describing what we see is not “virtue signaling," “pearl clutching” or “finger wagging” or any other cliche meant to minimize the importance of speaking truth. If we see that the emperor's not wearing any clothes, let's keep describing his naked butt.

On projected revenue:

To put $500 billion in context, the US spent ~$825 billion on the Defense Department in fiscal 2024.

The current tax gap is $700 billion. Think about almost doubling the tax gap in a single year.
🚨 Big SCOOP 🚨

Tax revenue could fall by as much as **10%** this year, per sources, as taxpayers and businesses see the Trump admin as less likely to challenge tax cheats.

That'd be **$500 BILLION** in lost revenue.

It'd nearly double the tax gap in a single year.
Tax revenue could drop by 10 percent amid turmoil at IRS
Staff cuts and disruptions related to the U.S. DOGE Service have officials bracing for a sharp loss of revenue.
