I started to explain that hearing loss doesn’t necessarily mean ‘all frequencies’ loss, but she was glazing over

Not such a good trip back from Essex, but at least we were off the motorway and we had two men in the car who could change the tyre.

Experimenting using ric rac to edge a neckline. I think I like it but am wondering how it well it will wash. #SewSky

Just covered myself in latte before my physio. I hope he likes Eau de Starbucks.

Lots of the neurodivergent students I work with find the tube intolerable. This is one of the reasons why (Jubilee Line yesterday evening)!

Look what’s arrived! Very different to see it in the flesh. If you’d like to get one, it’s available at Waterstone’s and Foyles, as well as here: www.amazon.co.uk/Study-Skills...

This was it!

Morning all! At the pool before 7 to walk out my achy limbs. Only trouble is that booking for the classes next week opens at 7 and will be full by 7:05. So, sat twiddling my thumbs in the changing room until then!

Murder on hypermobile feet and ankles but very pretty in Rhodes.

In other news, we’ve been accidentally locked on our balcony by housekeeping. Managed to call head office but nothing’s happening. May start yelling in a bit.

I am thankful for my husband’s gift of two new water bottles and his thoughtful decanting of detergent to a smaller bottle, to save my fingers. And yet…🤣

If I were a mum to little girls, this morning I would be so pleased they have such healthy, tenacious and gloriously happy role models.

Last week, I was banging on about the importance of pacing and how I generally get it right. The avoidance of hubris is important, as my sore hands can attest.

Oh my goodness, just back from an absolutely magical, joyous matinee performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Bridge. Worth every single penny. This was during the interval.

Supposed to have been making bucket hats but got sidetracked by a bag pattern and some spare denim 🤣 Half the day has now gone and my house is a tip.

Husband needs bigger version. Boys (young men) need smaller. Bit rough and ready, here’s the first one I made.

Fabric delivery just in time for the weekend. Reversible bucket hats for the men in my family, ahoy! #SewSky

One of the joys of working from home is that no one can tell me off for working in ‘layers’ on my desk!

Good morning! My petunias are grateful for a change in the weather.

I hear you! I saw this yesterday by @kitdewaal.com and thought it would be my theme tune for the week. I think the heat isn’t helping.

Mysterium Fidei (museum in a working monastery) in Valetta is beautiful. Also, vaguely unsettling - but organised religion does that to me.
June 24, 2025 at 10:12 AM
Good, thank you. I’m in Valetta, celebrating the end of my marking marathon and trying to forget the state of the world.

There’s a degree of risk when I buy fabric from Vinted which I quite enjoy. Just picked this up from the locker. It looked like a white background on the photos. So, I shall be making a pale green dress this afternoon!
