It’s Gauda Prime Day, the anniversary of the finale of #Blakes7 44 years ago.

Here is the report I wrote about visiting BBC Television Centre in 1981 to watch that episode, “Blake”, being recorded in studio.

It’s in three blog entries:

One of those promos the BBC used to be so good at making. A raft of comedy talent on display here

The Legend of Robin Hood (21st December 1975). The Sheriff of Nottingham (Paul Darrow) and Prince John (David Dixon) continue to plot.

Happy Gauda Prime Day!

Blake has fallen, but fear not, for the Liberator will rescue us from the miserable tree sanctuary, or failing that the TARDIS is approaching.

A happy Gauda Prime Day to all who celebrate. :-) Let us raise a glass to toast Chris Boucher, the man who made this day in 1981 one that many of us will never forget.

First Aliexpress parcel arrived. The £2.50 Jinhao 20s appear to be the real thing, as far as my limited experience can tell, other than arriving in what I think may be a different company's box. At that price I don't care as long as they work. No obvious light leaks.

Finally bought one of the KDP paperbacks of the Loose Id books I'd republished myself after they closed. I'm going to have to redo them at some point, because the gutter is nowhere near wide enough, and I could have sworn I'd set up the file to have the title page on the right, etc.

Not saying my son is awesome, but he’s 3D printed the Ea-Nasir tablet for me.

Bother. One of the many things I failed to do this weekend was put up one of my old fanfic stories in time for Gauda Prime Day. Having a fully functioning brain again would be quite nice; I'm very fed up after several years of just enough brain to make it to the end of the working week.

I made this for my bil a few years back. He puts it on the tree every year.

Hard start on the Jinhao 20 last night and again this morning, which worried me slightly, but checking showed that the converter was empty. I'd done 7-8 A5 sides at most and probably less, so not exactly massive capacity, but I've been spoiled by the WS 3008 piston filler.

More cataloguing of my inks using an iOs app. Unfortunately the thing I specifically bought it for does not work on my iPad, i.e. tracking what ink is currently in a pen. Contacted the developer in August who said he would take a look, but no update yet. :-(

What on Earth? One of my print books is listed on abebooks for £41, by two different sellers, with more than 20 copies available from each seller. The one in the US is charging £56 p&p. The book is in print from Amazon POD for £5.

Money laundering? Algorithm?

Did a first fill of the Jinhao 20 retractable last weekend, and didn't use it during the week. Picked it up this evening and did some writing, and smooth start with no skipping, so the seal looks good so far. F nib, but feels more like an M or Western F. Nice writer for me.

Finished the Boxset of Courtney Milan's "The Worth Saga". Excuse me while I just sit here and Kermit flail for a bit.

Yep. A lot of the time my answer would be "because that's what happened when I picked up the pen, and I desperately needed to know how they got into that situation and what happened next". But it's still the same process. I can tell you the genesis of scenes, stories, I wrote 25 years ago.
If the writer’s eyes light up when asked, “why did the character do that?” then it’s real.

My Horoco dip pens arrived today by Royal Mail 48 hr service with tracking - on time and as predicted. Apart from the minor detail that when I got the notification email that it it had been dispatched I went to the website to rearrange delivery to Saturday, because I wasn't going to be in.

Order placed - Sailor Horoco fude, 1.1 stub, and a fine nib and two feeds. Plus a bottle of Van Dieman ink in an interesting looking colour, which took it over the free shipping minimum.

Bought a new 48 slot pen wallet to go with the three I already have, not so much because I need that many as that I want to organise by maker and could do with more room. Started going through the box on my desk checking before putting away.

Spa day next weekend, I think...

Still trying to work out what to do with the remains of the Cashmere From Hell. I have somewhere between 15g and 25g laceweight still on the cone, but it is a nightmare to work single strand and I need to Navajo ply, so realistically I've got 50-75 m to play with.

Amazon is really, *really* determined that I shall take up my free trial of Prime. I presume they're trying to lock people into their ecosystem for Christmas shopping.

After some technical issues, the #Blakes7 Production Diary Series B is back on sale. HOWEVER... if you're thinking of picking this up (or any of our titles), hang fire until next week. With luck Lulu will offer their usual Black Friday 30% off deal! As soon as we know, we'll let you know! Thanks.

So now that I have gone looking for rollerballs that take fountain pen ink cartridges I am spoilt for choice even in the cheap price range. I wasn't a few years ago when I first wanted to replace the one I had. Now it's just a case of which grip and will it take a converter.
