There is HUGE interested in Biodiversity Credits right now (my LinkedIn feed is buzzing). BCs require a generalizable, standardized measure of biodiversity—essentially a ‘unit of nature’. We present a framework for understanding how methodologies do this.

My least favorite type of comment about a scientific article is the celebratory policy failure type of comment. Intentional or not, this reads like a “gotcha” moment. Instead, we should all be deeply concerned that such a critical carbon-reducing scheme is not working and find ways to fix it.

Unexpectedly, one of my favorite parts of the post-PhD job search has been reconnecting with old colleagues and long lost friends. It’s really fun seeing where everyone has landed! ✨

We saw the Monarch’s this weekend! Such magic. And also great to see respectful observers watching from a healthy distance.

It depends. If this is in reference to global agreements (and global issues), I feel strongly that there is no real substitute for face time. It's unfortunate but true.
So, what I think Earth Sciences really needs right now for the sake of people's sanity and equity of opportunity is the equivalent of "eat local". Something like "research local" and "meet local". There is no need for constant travel to distant lands or meetings -- we just like doing it.
