The US National Park Service 'junior ranger' scheme is a fabulous initiative. I was proud to be sworn in this weekend after completing a variety of assignments in a really informative booklet. Who says it's not aimed at professors? We loved it & learned alot.

The US National Park Service 'junior ranger' scheme is a fabulous initiative. I was proud to be sworn in this weekend after completing a variety of assignments in a really informative booklet. Who says it's not aimed at professors? We loved it & learned alot.
The Joint Nature Conservation Committee does such important work advising the UK and devolved governments on nature conservation. I'm delighted to have been appointed to the board.

Absolutely. It's about how clearly mechanism is understood: you don't need a replicated experiment to test if jumping out of plane without prachute will cause injury (see satirical paper below). In grazing example, we understand mechanism so single rep. is convincing.

It doesn’t feel good to criticize other’s work: but this is how science advances. In Nature today we respond to a high-profile paper (by Jedediah Brodie & colleagues) about the impact of protected areas on wildlife in southeast Asia.
