I have been reflecting on this whilst having post parkrun nosh! If you are on for a PB and someone takes a tumble in front of you, do you stop to check they are OK or do you run past them knowing volunteers are on the way?

I think it's ok to want to run fast, to push yourself against others, but never to lose sight of the underlying thing that parkrun is. Community, kindness, good manners are as important as being first finisher in my eyes.

It's going to be dark the first night coming home but I shall just drive slowly and carefully and if it annoys the varky drivers, so be it! It's one of the joys of living in the countryside, sometimes I wish I could relocate to a big city with public transport 🙄

Next week I have to drive through Totnes to work in Ivybridge and there is a section of road like a bowl, I have previously driven into the 'bowl' and there was water running down the hillside into the road. It was terrifying but big girls pants on, need to pay for Far East trip next year!!

I heard that if it doesn't rain a lot this winter we will be in drought my summer. My garden is wetter than an otter's pocket and the allotment is flooding.

Yes, and it was dark. And the traffic through Exeter is notoriously awful. Next week I am going to Ivybridge 2 days a week, and most of that journey will be country roads!

It was a lovely cruise, as we left our most northerly port I made Mr W go on deck and we said the Naval Prayer for all the lads from the Russian Convoys.

The RN diver who confirmed she was the M1 is planning to re-dive on the boat with an ensign given to him by a serving submariner. Isn't that lovely?
