The human heart is

The size of a

Fist

Clenched.

Indefatigable, and infallible

On pain of death.

And yet it skips

At the most curious

Times,

To remind us of its finite

Beats.

And perhaps to attend us

To use them both wisely

And with abandon.

David Lynch said that filmmaking should be fun & joyful. Of course it can be hard work. Of course the work itself can encompass all kinds of pain & painful truth. But the act of creation itself should be full of joy. I think about that all the time.

RIP David Lynch. You are immortal.

So John McDougall, the provincially appointed chair of the Edmonton Police Commission, says he will serve out the remainder of his term as a commissioner (but not as chair) from Portugal. Provincial government has given this its blessing.

The head of the city’s police oversight agency plans to move to Portugal full-time but will continue governing Edmonton police from overseas.

He won’t be chair in the new year, though. edmontonjournal.com/news/local-n...

Danielle Smith wants Alberta border patrol?
FACTS!
Along Montana border (with Alberta and Sask):
3 lb fentanyl last year, 1 lb meth.
Fewer than dozen individual (including migrants) "encounters" per month.
"urgent" provincial sheriff patrols, for this?

My favourite part about the self checkout at Safeway is how if you try to put a bag in to start it yells “Unexpected item in bagging area!” and if you don’t it yells at you to “Please take your items!”while you’re frantically trying to bag them up at the end.

A+ trolling. No notes.

I remember the first time I heard “the loss of privilege feels like oppression” & I thought it was a clever rhetorical argument. It’s not. It’s a warning about something that has to be contended with. Same with this panel ⤵️. Folks who want to see progress in solving complex problems should pay heed.

Doomscrolling belongs right up there with smoking, biting your nails or procrastinating; it's an addictive habit that's hard to break.
