Seeing quite a few small flocks, mostly high up in the conifer trees. Was happy to catch a couple at eye level yesterday. A little dark in the bush but still great getting their blast of colour.

Any idea what this statement from an opinion poll piece in the Globe about second use is referring too ?

Read it, possibly to my detriment. Author went looking for what they wanted and avoided everything else. To me proved they could build their own echo chamber here. As a regular user it seemed absurd.

Got my first look at a Sundew this summer at a local Hinton fen. I admit I am fascinated, looking forward to more photos next year.

Agree on how quiet it would be without them. Enjoying your great photos, I like the background you have with this one. Caught a fun pic yesterday of this one telling me to move along.

Excellent photos ! I haven’t spotted a Canada Jay with a mushroom yet but catching Red Squirrels with them is always a walk highlight. Good to know they eat them too. Caught this one with its harvest last month.

They blend in great, nice habitat shot. I find watching and trying for photos of them is a fun way to test your patience. From a couple weeks ago, making some greens disappear.

A female Hooded Merganser from the local Beaver pond.

A little different pose from one a few days ago, was foraging with a female and they got chased by a Red-winged Blackbird. Female hid and when the male came back I am convinced he was looking for her.
