It's apparently perfectly fine for senior political journalists to call for the deportation of British Muslim politicians now, with zero consequences

like most of the public, i had never heard of this repellent weirdo until yesterday, so it's quite odd to watch the entire court press feeling the need to go to bat for him
In which I argue that:

a) The Paul Ovenden messages about Diane Abbott are really repugnant, and

b) We might want to be careful about deciding anything bad anyone has ever said online, however long ago, even in a private message is grounds for resignation

Who will be the next Paul Ovenden?
The messages from Starmer’s ousted aide are repugnant. But digital skeletons have become almost inevitable

This article takes *17 paragraphs* to even mention the privatisation of England's water supply, and even then it does so in an equivocal 'some say' fashion - without mentioning, for example, that England is one of the only countries in the world with privatised water. Excrable journalism as usual.

It is inherently absurd to proscribe a group as terrorists based on acts the public doesn't know about. Terrorism *by definition* involves violence intended to intimidate a civilian population. How can the target population be terrorised by acts they know nothing about?

they could have basically guaranteed themselves a second term by bringing the righteous fury down on these contemptible parasites, even just as spectacle. But they didn't, and wouldn't, and won't.
The escalating insanity and outright malfeasance of the UK's privatised water industry should really, really be enough to radicalise even yer da. I will never stop banging on about this.

the two most talked-about Glastonbury sets were artists barely anyone knew til last year. The runaway hit movie of the year is an original story about blues-playing vampires. The Rehearsal has done genuinely unprecedented stuff with TV. I get that this feels true, but it isn't really, is it.
We are living in the permaculture. New social networks build the feature set of Twitter 2016. Every movie is a sequel or a remake. So’s TV. The festival lineups don’t change.

The retromancers won.
