It’s never ok to use the R slur.

It’s never ok to discriminate against and berate disabled people.

It’s not an acceptable term to describe anyone, for any reason.

He’s emboldening his base.

They’re going to use it more often.

Please speak out. Help protect disabled lives.

“But to millions of Indigenous Americans, the story of Thanksgiving is also closely intertwined with their history of invasion, occupation, displacement, death and devastation that their communities faced as waves of settlers arrived and took over what is today the US.”
Thanksgiving: A story of celebration and pain, in maps
It's a day to give thanks. But for millions of Indigenous Americans, it also serves as a reminder of loss.

How awful. This is outright health disinformation, lying to the American people. Not only is there massive evidence showing no link between vaccines & autism, there’s not even a plausible mechanism based on what we’ve learned about the genetics of autism, some environmental exposures in pregnancy
HEADS UP: CDC website now officially asserts that vaccines may cause autism.“Studies supporting a link have been ignored by health authorities.” Also says the “vaccines do not cause autism” header remains b/c of an agreement with Cassidy.

I love a plain language summary!
Plain language is communication that your audience or readers can understand the first time they hear or read it. The terminology you use will vary depending on the audience. Always aim to avoid jargon when possible, especially when you have a broad general audience.

ED is transferring key functions to other agencies, and sources indicate that OSERS may soon be moved to HHS. CEC strongly opposes this change, which would weaken IDEA by placing special education under a health-based model.

Like critical race theory, “gender ideology” is both a bogeyman for the right and a backlash to social progress.

The right’s gripe isn’t just that trans people exist, but that their existence is tearing down the old world—of good men and obedient women—and unleashing a new, godless age of chaos.
How the right uses "gender ideology" to blame trans people for everything

For the Disability community, losing Alice Wong is like losing Ursula Le Guin or Octavia Butler. She was a powerhouse, a pioneer, and a mentor to many. She taught me so much. And always reminded me what we were fighting towards, as well as against. I miss her clarity, bravery, and joy.

It’s been a pleasure working with Lex and everyone in the politics vertical at Teen Vogue. I’m heartbroken that my column, Disability Visibility, is gone. Teen Vogue was one of the few places that published disabled journalists regularly. I just spent the last 2 months working on my next column
I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers, and today is my last day.

certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.
