July 2025 edition of Supernatural Feat!

Discussed: dates (like calendar dates), hawks, consciousness (sharing thereof), breath, "what else"

Links to good, real good, writing, but not all the real good writing, I could never do that.

for the folks getting off work, or who just did, check out new fiction from @jrostopovich.bsky.social
to kick off the week, we have an excerpt from an unpublished novel by a writer i really admire, @jrostopovich.bsky.social—this is ‘sunset, sunrise.’ jen’s work does something to me, writing full of texture and the tricky tones she works in. check it out: burialmagazine.neocities.org/sunsetsunrise

People are always asking me when I’m going to write a novel. I have, I just haven’t done anything with it. Huge thanks to Burial Magazine for being kind enough to publish a short excerpt!

New story up at Hobart inspired in part by the recent passing of Val Kilmer. It’s about my teenage obsession with The Doors and conjuring Jim Morrison on the Ouija.

Who’s up for a body-horror love story? If you act fast, you can read it before my husband does.

Many thanks to @aaronburch.bsky.social & @havehashad.com for giving this cringey cnf a good home.

I have a funny little flash out today about being middle-aged and doing stupid shit to prove to yourself you’re not as uncool as you feel. Thanks so much to @havehashad.com for taking this one!

If you’re headed to AWP make sure to stop by the @LEspritLit table at the book fair to grab a copy of their retrospective. I have seven watercolours and an essay in it. I’ll also be reading with them at The Last Bookstore on March 29th at 6pm. Come out and say hi!

Just realized I only have one submission out right now. I have this weird anxiety around submitting. It’s not even that I’m scared of rejection, I just feel kind of stupid submitting my writing. Like, here, I wrote this thing which may or may not be (is definitely) weird. Please publish it.
