New language in Trump's "big beautiful bill" could put beloved public lands up for sale, incl. AZ's Sabino Canyon & Mt Lemmon. Supposedly it's to address housing shortages - but could end up as luxury vacation homes blocking public access.

Sabino Canyon for sale? A Senate bill could make it possible, conservationists say
Senate Republicans have introduced an amendment that could lead to the sale of millions of acres of federal land for housing, including in Arizona

This administration wants to sell Sabino Canyon & Madera Canyon to developers. Two of the most visited public parks in the Tucson valley.
I can't forcefully express my disgust enough.
These parks are vital not just to the wildlife but the mental well-being of a million people.

What happens when NIH is under threat?
📉 Fewer clinical trials.
💔 No new treatments for cancer, rare diseases.

And long-term? We surrender our global leadership in biomedical research.

NIHers risked everything to speak out, b/c the stakes are life and death.

Stand with them here⬇️

The President’s decision to bomb Iran was grossly unconstitutional, since only Congress has the power to declare war. The President’s action will without a doubt lead to many American, Israeli and Iranian deaths and must be condemned in the strongest possible terms.

Unjustified firing of a highly qualified leader respected by both parties.
President Donald Trump has fired the Librarian of Congress Dr. Carla Hayden, according to a copy of her termination email obtained by NBC News.
Trump abruptly fires Librarian of Congress
Dr. Carla Hayden, the first woman and African-American to occupy the position, had been targeted in recent days by a right-leaning group.

Still 45%
GS: "Earlier today, before President Trump’s announcement, we had shifted to a recession baseline in response to the additional country-specific tariffs that went into effect this morning. We are now reverting to our previous non-recession baseline forecast." (45% probability of recession)

I think about this every day.

If the strongest among us cower…
I'm just genuinely shocked that so many people in positions of power -- people who could take a stand, make a difference, and be remembered for it -- have no interest in being on the right side of history.

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.
Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow
As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy
