City staff are back with a modified plan to allow corner stores and cafes in residential neighbourhoods. The residents’ association that opposed the plan says it’s still not happy.

Without popular support for separation, she has seriously limited options. But Moscrop is exactly right: this is live ammo-stuff now, the way Brexit was, the way Trump as a candidate was. She is reckless, and part of a political movement of delusion and dishonesty. Very dangerous
Danielle Smith is playing fast and loose with the future of the country. It seems like a long shot that Alberta would vote to leave, but who knows what happens once you start down this path. It’s a live-ammo outing now.

Utter insanity.

Trump brings up "Governor Trudeau" and says, "I have to be honest. As a state, it works great. As a nation ... why are we spending $200 billion? It doesn't make sense."

So the plan is that economic growth will cause the budget to balance itself?
First impression of the CPC platform: they're booking a lot of projected future revenue from projected future economic growth.

The LPC platform explicitly did not do that. Neither did the CPC platform in 2021.

Still undecided on which party to vote for? Read this long piece by @sproudfoot.bsky.social on Mark Carney’s rise to the occasion. #cdnpoli

Is Mark Carney a shrewd strategist or just lucky? Both, say those who know him

Surprised that @sproudfoot.bsky.social didn’t ask Carney what his favourite Simpson episode is or who is the better model: Marge or Lisa?

I met with General Carignan today, Chief of Defence Staff, about the hard work ahead to make Canada secure.

Together as Canadians, we’re going to meet our 2% NATO spending target by 2030, modernize NORAD, strengthen our Arctic presence, and ensure we build a strong, resilient Canada.

The stock market is not the economy. The stock market is not the economy. The stock market is not the economy.

Nonetheless, holy shit.

What’s remarkable is that there’s hardly any real news driving this. It’s just investors belatedly realizing that Trump is who he is, and always was.
