You know that thing? About movies you should have but haven’t yet seen?

So, here in MSP, given imminent BS, I needed a couple of hours of escape. I just watched “Highlander”. For the first time. And, my soul is restored.

Don’t judge.

Current mood in MSP...

Less than a week after the joyful & welcome arrival of winter, now we learn the ICE is coming. And, I feel sick.

Had my sons + the elder’s GF over yesterday to share a belated Thanksgiving meal.

Pro-tip: instead of roasting an oversized bird with 100 ways to fail and only mediocre fare if you succeed, roast a bone-in pork shoulder. There are a 100 ways to succeed all of which are delicious.

Is it cheating?

I just don’t see how we can pretend even for a moment that anything involving our federal government is remotely normal when the president is covering up his involvement in a child sex trafficking ring. Like, what are we doing here

Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

I quit playing video games at PacMan. Never learned a screen pattern.
I never watched Saturday morning cartoons
Inspired by a post I just saw in which someone admitted they hadn’t seen a single episode of Friends nor the film Love Actually… what cultural hole do you have that’s a bit weird for your generation?

I’ll go first: I haven’t seen Dirty Dancing.

Why Tyler Robinson murdered Charlie Kirk begins and ends with one person - Tyler Robinson.

Use of “they” as a rhetorical object of blame is as likely to be evidence of projection as it is to correspond to anything real.

What’s more ironically & tragically hilarious than Trump continuing to think he’s in charge of anything?

That the main stream press continues to cover him as if that’s the case. And, that so many people seem to believe it.

It’s Project 2025, baby - the “always follow the money” of the moment.

Something not called out enough...

Every new fee, tariff, share dividend, or other form of payment established by executive order is money going into an executive branch slush fund. It can be spent without any need for legislation and without Congressional oversight.

When a nonexistent group gets designated a “terrorist organization”, evidence isn’t needed to “identify” someone as member of the group and therefore as a terrorist. Nor can any evidence refute being so identified.

Start practicing holding your breath underwater.

I worked in Minneapolis when Marilyn Hagerty went viral for her review of the Olive Garden. Her life before and after was fascinating. Great obituary here for a great newswoman.

An act fueled, in part, by a romantic relationship, maybe. It sure as hell didn’t happen in a vacuum.

Aside from maybe a single shot target rifle, few more effective choices at that distance than a bolt action .30-06.

I hunt and don’t apologize. But it’s hella thin line. “One shot.”

But, I wonder what good might happen if all SM went dark for a week? Maybe two?

Does Kash Patel have any idea that he was appointed with intention that he and the FBI look like a joke? Do any of the appointees know the same about themselves and the agencies or departments they head? Are they all literally that dumb?

Before today, I couldn’t have answered the question “Who is (was) Charlie Kirk?”

Neither did I know the two children shot to death last week a couple of dozen blocks from my home.

Tragically ironic that now I know all about the former and still can’t name the latter.
