"Luigi Mangione takes aim" is a hell of a choice.

It was always my possibly-wrong understanding that this would be the House voting to release only what the House has.

Thus it should be a simple majority yes/no vote just in the House.

But I could be wrong.

Finally found my first, "Nah I know you're cutting for grammar but I also feel like Clarice would just say this in this idiosyncratic way" moment. :)

Keeeeep reminding yourself Chapter 2 is long, one of the longest.

I will support his primary challenger. I'd run if I could, but...I definitely am not at that point in my life yet, if ever I will be.

It's my understanding Tom Suozzi voted for it.

Overall, good stuff. Mostly just sentences I could have written better, or similar things that @justinemanzano.bsky.social flagged and was like, "Hey."

And, like, "Hey." It makes more sense now! :)

Keep reminding yourself: These few first chapters are longer than some others combined. It's okay that it feels like you're chipping away at a wall.

Chapter Two in progress.

It's definitely IN. Progress.

So far not toooo many issues.

Gee, Maggie. Guess you shouldn't have ended the shutdown that would have forced Republicans to NOT tie ACA credits to abortion rights, huh?

bsky.app/profile/sahi...

So what are you gonna choose: Vote to strip peoples' rights away, or vote to deny them healthcare?

Maybe you should just resign.
NEW: Republicans demand tougher abortion restrictions to extend Obamacare funds

This demand spans Senate leadership to Finance Cmte to proponents of ACA money.

Dems say hell no, current Hyde protections suffice.

"It's a nonstarter," Shaheen tells me.

Republicans demand tougher abortion restrictions to extend Obamacare funds
Democrats say that’s a nonstarter, arguing there are already limits on abortion access. The dispute could torpedo a deal, leading to higher health insurance premiums for millions.

Of course, Protostar was supposed to be totally separate and totally light sci-fi without much (if any) magical stuff, but...President Erica Hall *does* create a world that makes the Human Concordance (which is never named that in the two novels BTW) possible.

Hmmm. In case I ever un-fuck book 3.

:( Feel better soon.

On to Lost Children/Conviction.

Lost Children is another popular friction point for Berserk fans. It was totally skipped in the latest (I mean, it was a decade ago) anime adaptations (though they added a little scene w/Farnese and Serpico IIRC), and I've always been a fan of it.

Oh, I'm sure Republicans will be thrilled to spare a year's worth of ACA extensions (perhaps, though, in the form of a savings account contribution) in exchange for a likely-permanent curtailment of abortion.

In fact, they might not even need any Democratic votes on this at all.

As someone who wants to have a baby some day, Demon Infant is fucking heartbreaking.

(No, we still aren't 100% sure what that's about. At least, I'm not. I mean I know he's connected to Griffith but I'm not 100% sure how. Not...Not fully.)
