This is chilling.
Trump, speaking after being named "Patriot of the Year" by Fox -- note the Fox "hard news" anchor in the crowd applauding him -- says "we are gonna do things that have been really needed for a long time. And we are gonna look at elections."

No man has done more to undermine our Democracy than Sen McConnell (R-KY) He took to the floor to complain that two federal judges said they weren’t going to resign because Trump won. Remember in 2020 he was actively seeking out judges to resign so the Trump could replace them. Oh the hypocrisy!!

On the 50th anniversary of Nixon's resignation, I wrote how the Trump crimes dwarf Watergate. www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...
Sorry, Richard Nixon
The Watergate scandal forced his resignation 50 years ago. Today, he’d probably have gotten away with it.

I keep thinking about this critical insight from @atrupar.com - Republicans cannot claim a mandate for policies they disavowed and distanced themselves from during the campaign. Or at least we need to make it very hard for them to do so.
"Trump has no mandate to implement Project 2025 -- in fact he denied all links with it on the campaign trail. But because of the trifecta voters handed Republicans, it's likely to happen nonetheless."
Trump hoodwinked voters about his worst policy commitments
They signed up for Project 2025 whether they knew it or not.

Republican extremists. These Christofascists will not stop. They want all women subjugated and stripped of every conceivable right — including bodily autonomy. As basic a human right as one can possibly imagine — the right to control one’s own body.
Here we go-🚨🚨🚨

They’re coming after reproductive healthcare in Ohio, even though we voted to protect it.

You can’t say we didn’t warn you this was coming.

THIS IS WILDLY INFURIATING!!!

A failed president who incited a coup attempt and then was found liable of sexual assault and then was convicted of felonies won the popular vote and electoral college. I still haven’t seen a satisfactory explanation. Probably never will.

This story from the Idaho Capital Sun seems significant: "Pete Hegseth, president-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for secretary of Defense, has close ties to an Idaho-based Christian nationalist church that aims to turn America into a theocracy."
