BREAKING: Kids incarcerated at Louisiana's notorious Angola prison say they were locked in windowless cells with no air-conditioning for nearly 24 hours a day this month, as heat indexes in the area topped 133 degrees.

It took me forever to quit twitter because I kept hoping it wasn’t as bad as I could clearly see but now that I deactivated I’m shocked at the peace and relief I feel. I thought I’d be so sad but I had already grieved for what it was as it tumbled into the abyss.

We started fostering two kittens yesterday bringing our grand total of animals to 23 (16 chickens, 2 bunnies, 2 barn cats, a 9-month-old house kitten and 2 foster kittens), not including the bees. I would like to note that I did not get baby chicks this year, so I do have *some* self control.
